Gottman misses neglect.

It’s not the same as stonewalling, and it belongs in the panoply of critical risk factors in a relationship.

I disagree that love is unconditional. Because love is also a verb, not just a feeling. And we do not choose to unconditionally love those with agency. We place conditions on our acts of love.

Acceptance could be unconditional, sure.

I can accept that you are who you are and behave the way you behave, and still choose not to love you.
