I agree that strip clubs are rife with objectification, exploitation, and idealization… kind of like college sports (but for different reasons).
What most people assume is that it’s only the women who are being objectified and exploited. In fact, the same can happen to their male customers, and no one seems to acknowledge that.
There’s nothing wrong — i.e., no psychic red flag — when a man gets turned on by a beautiful, naked dancing lady, no matter how it is paid for. That’s how men are biologically programmed.
The point of my article is to help men understand what might be there for them, why it’s not available elsewhere, and to help avoid the moral stigmatization and shame that prevents them from learning what they really need to know about themselves.
