I think you are correct Cindy Bahl that your experience is not unique.

I have noticed that daughters who lack direct experience with male role models will sometimes adopt their Mother’s views as their point of departure. That is, there’s a reason that your Mother kept you shielded from male role models — some type of story or rationale that she shared with you.

Her story may become your default view of men, because you lacked your own direct childhood experiences.
