It doesn’t sound altogether different from my views, Peter Daley.

One of the things that is very helpful to those suffering loss of loved ones is the idea that a power greater than themselves is watching over us.

The concept of an afterlife for our lost loved ones, that is waiting for us, too (when we will be reunited) is a comfort in grief, and creates a sense of safety.

It poses a serious challenge to those who are professed atheists or nonreligious, because they have disavowed the concept of a Higher Power as nothing more than an imaginative abstraction.

My friend Ben Creighton is not a Believer. Although he recognizes the utility of Belief, he’s struggling to find a different way.

I created this new theory of grief for him and for others whom I love and hate to see struggling.

Thank you for writing.
