The Thanksgiving holiday was instituted by President Lincoln, after a campaign by Sara Josepha Hale, a writer and magazine editor who also advocated for abolition of slavery and women’s rights.

It makes sense to me that Gov. Newsom, who has already overreached his executive authority to remove public freedoms, would shit on a treasured American celebration so closely associated with family, civil rights, and social justice.

Because Newsom aspires to tyranny. King George would be very proud.
