This is a really tough “should.”

Andy Andrews says that most people think of a good friend as someone who “accepts you as your are.” Then he tells us that kind of thinking is dangerous garbage, because true friends challenge us to be better versions of the people we wish we were.

I agree with Andrews.

What he doesn’t say is that too much challenge and your friends, family, and Lover will tire of you, interpret your earnestness as criticism, and shut you out of their lives.

Sometimes, for good.
