This is another crap, clap-mongering Medium article Eve Fairbanks.

You write as if you’re jealous of the people on Twitter who are getting more “likes” than you are, and you’re trying to delegitimize the popularity of their stories because you tested negative and they haven’t been tested at all.

Why else would you care about whether someone thinks they had COVID in December or January?

CDC data indicates that thousands of people in the United States were reporting flu-like symptoms to their doctors in November, December, and early January and testing negative for seasonal flu. That pattern is consistent with a much earlier arrival of COVID in the US than your article admits is possible.

What you’re missing is that there was no such thing as a COVID test in the US at the time. These people could not have been tested for COVID.

That doesn’t make them Trump supporters, or FOMO hipsters, or emotional children.

Your attempts to shame other people who are reporting their own medical journeys and have legitimate questions about their immunity and their economic livelihoods are insensitive and unconscionable.

Except for the fact that you make your living as a freelance writer, and have only showed on Medium to pollute our feeds with your attention-seeking shame because you a) want to sell your upcoming book about South Africa, or b) you write for money, and someone at Medium paid you to produce this drivel.
