Women intuitively understand that their appearance and their sexuality ARE a source of power. That's why "feminists" will appear in public topless, protesting the sexual exploitation of women. They know that bare breasts will create attention. The hypocrisy of exploiting sexuality to protest exploitation of sexuality is not an obstacle to their vapid attention seeking.

I agree that #ChallengeAccepted does nothing to empower women. There is no challenge in posting a B&W, filtered selfie on your Instagram. Real challenges are not so easy to accept.

Nonetheless, the "movement" appeals to the female intuition to leverage visual media to exaggerate their own sense of self worth. And some of the pics are very pretty -- like the one you put at the top of your article to attract readers like me!
